Strong Local Roots...
Alex and Tom’s creative collaborations began in 2015, working together at the University of Portsmouth. Alongside their studies, they founded a production company and began collaborating with local businesses and creative organisations. Integrating within the city, they began laying the foundations for Port of Call Media.
...With National Reach
Today, Port of Call Media is an established full service creative studio, working across the country. Along the way, they’ve worked with entrepreneurs, musicians, artists, conservationists, Lamas, researchers, brands and ivory hunter-hunters.
Through their work, Tom and Alex have become known for providing the worlds of corporate and culture a high standard of reliable video production services.
Our Mission
We want to raise the standards of video production for culture makers and corporate innovators. Good enough is not enough.
We set up Port of Call Media to be able to work at a standard we’re proud of, celebrating and contributing to culture and taking what we learned working in the film and TV Industry - while shedding the bureaucracy that stops creativity in its tracks.

Alex Malcolm
Head of Post-Production
Having worked as a colourist and online editor for award winning productions on BBC, ITV and Channel 4, I am in charge of the Post-Production workflows and make sure it's all smooth sailing throughout. I have a keen eye for detail and won't settle for 'good enough', I make sure everything is the best it can be.

How We Work
Every project starts with a proper conversation. We want to understand what you're trying to achieve, who you're talking to, and what success looks like for you. Come to us with a full script, a half-formed idea, or even just a gut feeling about something you want to explore, we'll figure out the rest together.
